Ryan Chetiyawardana

Ryan Chetiyawardana is an award winning bartender who has plied his trade up and down the UK. Starting out training to be a chef, he turned his eyes towards bartending so that he could combine his love of creation with interaction with his guests.

Having completed a BA and MA at Edinburgh University he worked at Bramble, a bar at the heart of the city’s burgeoning cocktail renaissance. After some time honing his skills he won the 2009 UK Bartender of the Year award as part of Diageo’s World Class competition and came to London, where he further developed his love of the art and science of cocktail making with Tony Conigliaro of 69 Colebrooke Row.

Ryan has since worked with Fluid Movement to open and establish the Worship Street Whistling Shop. He has helped develop its reputation as a destination bar for those after impressive drinks combining historical recipes and modern technology to produce something unlike anything found in other bars.

He is now Creative Director for Mr Lyan, and has some interesting plans quietly bubbling away, some of which may appear before The Show in October.

At the Show

Ryan is behind the design and implementation of The Show Cocktail Bar, and will be on hand each day to explain the various ideas that have gone into its creation.
